Resumo: O incisivo de rato é de crescimento contínuo, fazendo com que haja concomitantemente à erupção dentária a reorganização do epitélio juncional. O incisivo também apresenta a papila circundental, que é uma projeção epitelial em continuidade com o epitélio sulcular. A porção interna da papila circundental está em contato com a porção cervical do ligamento periodontal, em processo de reabsorção. Abstract: The continuous growth of the rat incisor is associated with a constant reorganization of the junctional epithelium. The gengiva of the rat incisor presents the circundental papilla, corresponding to a projections of the sulcular epithelium in to the subjacent connective tissure. The internal surface os the circundental papilla contacts the cervical part of the periodontal ligament, that in the rat incisor suffers resorption.
