Abstract: The study of trellis code modulation schemes was limited until now to the binary case and to some sporadic ternary and quaternary cases. 1n this work a complete generalization of this theory is achieved for any number of elements of a field, for constellations with one and two dimensions:...
Abstract: The study of trellis code modulation schemes was limited until now to the binary case and to some sporadic ternary and quaternary cases. 1n this work a complete generalization of this theory is achieved for any number of elements of a field, for constellations with one and two dimensions: PAM and QAM. Optimum codes are determined and their corresponding performances are evaluated.
