O presente artigo tem por objetivo discutir como a experiência migratória produz mudanças subjetivas na percepção que o sujeito migrante tem sobre o tempo, e como tal categoria foi refletida por algumas perspectivas teóricas na história da Antropologia. Para isso, conduzo as reflexões sobre o tempo a partir de fragmentos biográficos concernentes à experiência migratória do senegalês Mustapha para o Brasil. Hábil vendedor de rua, Mustapha notabilizava-se, durante o trabalho de campo, por seu vasto conhecimento acerca dos relógios de pulso, que ele comercializava nas ruas de Caxias do Sul, RS, localidade que, durante algum tempo, foi reconhecida pelos próprios migrantes senegaleses como uma "capital do Senegal no Brasil". Analisando, de um ponto de vista etnográfico, as dinâmicas de trabalho na rua, demonstro como Mustapha se relacionava com a materialidade dos relógios, para em seguida discutir sobre a importância do surgimento dos relógios mecânicos na modernidade. Abstract: This article aims to discuss how the category of Time was reflected by some theoretical perspectives in the history of Anthropology. For this, I conduct a reflection about Time, coming from biographical fragments concerning the migratory experience of the Senegalese Mustapha with Brazil. A skilled street vendor, Mustapha became notable for his vast knowledge of wristwatches, which he sold on the streets of Caxias do Sul, RS, a locality that for some time was recognized by Senegalese migrants as a "capital of Senegal in Brazil". From an ethnographic point of view, I analyze the dynamics of work "on the street", demonstrate how Mustapha related the materiality of watches and then discuss the importance of appearance of mechanical watches in modernity. At the end of the article, I discuss how Anthropology and Mustapha understand and relate themselves with time Ver menos
