Resumo: A presente dissertação, através de uma revisão bibliográfica, busca estabelecer o conceito de dignidade humana e seus elementos e traçar uma correlação com a filosofia da alteridade de Levinas, para ao fim demonstrar a impossibilidade da preservação da dignidade ante a ideologia neoliberal que tem dominado o presente momento social. O capítulo um traz a evolução do conceito de dignidade humana desde os tempos gregos até os tempos modernos, limitando de forma prática como ela se realiza, e apresenta a síntese do pensamento de Levinás sobre a ética da alteridade, onde expõe a responsabilidade que temos pelo Outro e por sua individualidade, concluindo como a dignidade humana se fortalece na relação com o Outro. O capítulo dois traz um escorço histórico sobre o neoliberalismo, clarificando a essência deste como sendo o individualismo competitivo. Assim, o capítulo três, esclarecendo os conceitos de individualidade e individualismo, mostra a impossibilidade de realizar a dignidade humana em um mundo dominado pelo sistema neoliberal, pois a essêndia da dignidade humana é a preservação da individualidade e a do neoliberalismo, o individualismo. Tudo isso com a finalidade de manifestar-se contra esta ideologia individualista, clamando por uma sociedade que se importe mais com o Outro e valorize o ser humano por quem é e não por sua utilidade Ver menos

Abstract: This dissertation, through a bibliographical review, seeks to establish the concept of human dignity and its elements and draw a projection with Levinas's philosophy of otherness, in order to demonstrate the impossibility of preserving dignity in the face of the neoliberal ideology that has dominated the present social moment. Chapter one presents the evolution of the concept of human dignity from Greek times to modern times, limiting the practical way in which it is realized, and presents the synthesis of Levinás's thoughts on the ethics of otherness, where he exposes the responsibility we have for Other and for their individuality, concluding how human dignity is strengthened in the relationship with the Other. Chapter two provides a historical overview of neoliberalism, clarifying its essence as competitive individualism. Thus, chapter three, clarifying the concepts of individuality and individualism, shows the impossibility of realizing human dignity in a world dominated by the neoliberal system, as the essence of human dignity is the preservation of individuality and that of neoliberalism, individualism. All of this with the aim of demonstrating against this individualist ideology, calling for a society that cares more about Others and values human beings for who they are and not for their usefulness Ver menos
