Resumo: Nesta tese, investiga-se a circulação e os efeitos de sentidos materializados em insultos direcionados a pessoas provenientes da região Nordeste do Brasil. Dessa forma, o investimento de pesquisa se dá sobre o objetivo de compreender a linguagem em um funcionamento violento, seu poder de produzir efeito de violência ao materializar sentidos através do insulto de origem regional, a partir da perspectiva enunciativa da Semântica do Acontecimento e do compartilhamento epistemológico com a Análise de Discurso francesa. Para isso, é abordado, em um primeiro capítulo, o Nordeste, sua fundação histórica como região, e o significado de ser nordestino(a), como uma elaboração identitária, uma particularidade regional no interior das relações entre diferentes sujeitos brasileiros. Em um segundo capítulo, é discutida a relação entre linguagem e violência na consideração do insulto como Violência Simbólica, o que significa que o insulto é tratado como fato de linguagem, uma formulação simbólica que produz violência em seus modos de significar. No terceiro capítulo é apresentado um panorama teórico e metodológico do trabalho e da posição de análise nele assumida que orienta os modos de compreensão e de leitura do material linguístico analisado no capítulo seguinte. O quarto capítulo é composto pelos materiais organizados em torno das questões do trabalho e de suas análises, nele são reunidos e analisados textos publicados por usuários em redes sociais, que foram noticiados em veículos de mídia, e assim, tornados publicamente conhecidos e acusados de serem insultuosos, textos onde o insulto é o modo de designação e de interpelação de sujeitos nordestinos na materialidade linguística. No quinto capítulo, é iniciada uma discussão sobre a retratação que é produzida como consequência da circulação dos textos insultuosos analisados na tese, um investimento introdutório para a discussão sobre o modo como o procedimento de retratação, ou pedido de desculpas, é elaborado como resposta a partir da denúncia do caráter insultuoso dos textos e de seu compartilhamento em ambiente virtual Ver menos

Abstract: This thesis investigates the circulation and effects of meanings materialized in insults directed at people from the Northeast region of Brazil. Thus, the research investment focuses on understanding language in a violent functioning, its power to produce the effect of violence by materializing meanings through the insult of regional origin, from the enunciative perspective of the Semantic of the Event and the epistemological sharing with French Discourse Analysis. To this end, the first chapter addresses the Northeast, its historical foundation as a region, and the meaning of being from the Northeast, as an identity elaboration, a regional particularity within the relationships between different Brazilian subjects. The second chapter discusses the relationship between language and violence by considering the insult as Symbolic Violence, meaning that the insult is treated as a linguistic fact, a symbolic formulation that produces violence through its ways of signifying. The third chapter presents a theoretical and methodological overview of the work, and the analytical position adopted, guiding the understanding and reading of the linguistic material analyzed in the following chapter. The fourth chapter consists of materials organized around the issues of the work and their analyses, where texts published by users on social networks, reported in media outlets, and thus made publicly known and accused of being insulting, are gathered and analyzed. These texts use insult as the mode of designation and interpellation of Northeastern subjects in linguistic materiality.
