Abstract: We report on our recent investigations carried out in Brazil focusing on the application of hollow-core photonic crystal fibers as platforms for new optical sensors. Herein, we discuss the potentialities of using hollow-core fibers for monitoring parameters such as curvature, temperature, and displacement. Our results contribute to enlarging the framework of hollow-core fiber applications and the impact of this family of optical fibers in the next developments in sensing technologies
