Abstract: This article presents performing arts as a particular field of investigation and
rehearsal of other ways of life, faced with deepening environmental, sanitary
and social crisis. It explores the concepts of modes of perception, umwelt and
affect, to think about the transition from crystalized and addictive habits towards
greater openness and the possibility of reinventing forms of living. There follows
a discussion about the ways in which we are affected by the urgency of the
