Resumo: Esta tese faz uma análise do romance O natimorto (2009) de Lourenço Mutarelli a partir do tarô. Partimos da hipótese apresentada por Helen Farley no livro A cultural history of tarot (2009), propondo os tarôs Visconti di Modrone, Brera-Brambilla e Visconti-Sforza como uma alegoria da vida da família Visconti na Renascença – sobretudo de Filippo Maria Visconti (1392 -1447), o duque de Milão, indivíduo que encomendou esses primeiros baralhos. Para investigá-la, percorremos tanto livros sobre a história da Renascença, como A cultura do Renascimento na Itália (2009), de Jacob Burckhardt, quanto sobre a filosofia renascentista, como Indivíduo e cosmos da filosofia do Renascimento (2001), de Ernst Cassirer. Partindo desse panorama, contrastamos o ambiente cultural, religioso e filosófico do Renascimento com o ocultismo do século XIX, berço do tarô divinatório, encontrando pontos de encontro e ressonâncias com o intuito de se chegar a uma teoria geral da prática de leitura do tarô em O natimorto. Em um segundo momento, investigamos dentro de O natimorto alguns pontos de confluência de aspectos estudados na primeira parte, recorrendo a autores como Georges Didi-Huberman, Giorgio Agamben, Gilles Deleuze, Carlo Ginzburg, Mircea Eliade, entre outros, estudando como o jogo de tarô dos maços de cigarros, apresentado no romance de Mutarelli, expressa as personagens envolvidas na obra. Ainda num terceiro momento, mostraremos a criação do naipe de Cigarros, tendo como base o místico G.O. Mebes. Aqui, procuramos explorar a alegoria como recurso narrativo, demonstrando, ao mesmo tempo, como algumas noções presentes em O natimorto possuem um forte apelo esotérico. Por fim, nossa tese terá como horizonte a seguinte pergunta: como a utilização do tarô na escrita e na trama de O Natimorto dá a ver as possibilidades da leitura divinatória como alegoria e ferramenta de reflexão? Abstract: This thesis analyzes the novel O natimorto (2009) by Lourenço Mutarelli using the tarot. We start from the hypothesis presented by Helen Farley in the book A cultural history of tarot (2009), proposing the Visconti di Modrone, Brera-Brambilla and Visconti-Sforza tarots as an allegory of the life of the Visconti family in the Renaissance – especially by Filippo Maria Visconti (1392 -1447), the Duke of Milan, the individual who commissioned these first decks. To investigate this, we covered both books on the history of the Renaissance, such as A cultura do Renascimento na Itália (2009), by Jacob Burckhardt, and on Renaissance philosophy, such as Indivíduo e cosmos da filosofia do Renascimento (2001), by Ernst Cassirer. Starting from this panorama, we contrast the cultural, religious and philosophical environment of the Renaissance with the occultism of the 19th century, the birthplace of divinatory tarot, finding meeting points and resonances with the aim of arriving at a general theory of a tarot reading practice in O natimorto. Secondly, we investigated within O natimorto some points of confluence of aspects studied in the first part, using authors such as Georges Didi-Huberman, Giorgio Agamben, Gilles Deleuze, Carlo Ginzburg, Mircea Eliade, among others, thus studying how the game cigarette pack tarot card expresses the characters involved in the work. Still in a third moment, we will show the creation of the Cigarettes suit, based on the mystical G.O Mebes. Here, we seek to use allegory as a narrative resource, demonstrating at the same time how some notions present in O natimorto have a strong esoteric appeal. Finally, our thesis will have as its horizon the following question: how does the use of tarot in the writing and plot of O natimorto reveal the possibilities of divinatory reading as an allegory and tool for reflection Ver menos
