Resumo: A pesquisa se configura como um estudo de "Estado da Arte" em que a questão central foi verificar quais são as características e tendências da produção acadêmica em Educação em Astronomia no Brasil, com dois objetivos fundamentais: recuperar as teses e dissertações visando explicitar e compreender a pesquisa sobre Educação em Astronomia no país. Apresentamos um percurso histórico destacando marcos curriculares, acadêmicos, sociais e culturais relacionados à Educação em Astronomia para dialogar com as pesquisas, concebendo-as como parte de um todo histórico, além de apresentarmos nossa compreensão metodológica sobre pesquisas em Estado da Arte. Nosso período de análise compreende de 1973 a 2018, com 490 pesquisas localizadas em seus textos integrais. Utilizamos a a técnica da Análise de Conteúdo, em torno de três núcleos de descritores: Institucionais, de Autoria e Educacionais, a partir dos quais se organizam diversas categorizações. Os resultados, a partir dessa organização e análise, indicam o percurso histórico, temporal e regional das produções, a distribuição por Instituição e programas de Pós-Graduação, a área de formação básica dos autores (as) e orientadores (as) que contribuem nas produções da área, assim como a participação dos diferentes gêneros na autoria e na orientação, a presença dos diferentes níveis educacionais, o foco temático de abordagem, as modalidades de ensino contempladas, a natureza administrativa dessas instituições de desenvolvimento das pesquisas, bem como os temas e conteúdos de Astronomia discutidos. Abstract: The research is configured as a "State of the Art" study in which the central issue was to verify what are the characteristics and trends of academic production in Astronomy Education Reserach in Brazil, with two fundamental objectives: recover theses and dissertations aiming explain and understand the State of the Art of research on Astronomy Education in the country. We present a historical path highlighting curricular, academic, social and cultural frameworks related to Education in Astronomy to dialogue with researches, conceiving them as part of a historical whole, in addition to presenting our methodological understanding of research on the State of the Art. Our analysis period ranges from 1973 to 2018, with 490 researches located in their full texts. We use the Content Analysis technique, around three descriptors nuclei: Institutional, Authorship and Educational, from which different categorizations are organized. The results, from this organization and analysis, indicate the historical, temporal and regional trajectory of the productions, the distribution by Institution and Graduate programs, the area of basic training of authors and supervisors who contribute to the productions in the area, as well as the participation of different genres in authorship and guidance, the presence of different educational levels, the thematic focus of approach, the contemplated teaching modalities, the administrative nature of these research development institutions, as well as the themes and Astronomy contents discussed.
