Resumo: A presente dissertação tem como objetivo analisar três momentos de grande agitação social da classe trabalhadora da cidade de Piracicaba, tendo como elemento norteador a trajetória do carpinteiro Mario Passini. Desse modo, será analisada a primeira greve geral do município, ocorrida em 1917, que a partir da experiência operária resultou na fundação da Liga Operária de Piracicaba. A segunda conjuntura a ser analisada é a greve geral de 1919, organizada e liderada pela Liga Operária, da qual Passini foi secretário. Por fim, será investigada as ações de propaganda comunista promovidas pelos trabalhadores entre 1935 e 1936. Além disso, pretendemos compreender as ações promovidas pela classe operária de Piracicaba buscando identificar as continuidades e descontinuidades nos modos de luta e organização dos trabalhadores. Abstract: This dissertation aims to analyze three moments of great social improvement for the working class in the city of Piracicaba, having as a guiding element the trajectory of the carpenter Mario Passini. In this way, the city's first general strike will be highlighted, which took place in 1917, which, based on the workers' experience, resulted in the founding of the Piracicaba Workers' League. The second situation to be proven is the general strike of 1919, organized and led by the Workers' League, of which Passini was secretary. Finally, the communist propaganda actions promoted by the workers, resulting in arrests, between 1935 and 1936 will be investigated. Furthermore, we intend to understand the actions promoted by the workers, seeking to identify the continuities and discontinuities in the ways of struggle and organization of the Piracicaba workers.
