Resumo: Desde 1980, famílias das etnias Guarani e Kaiowá, na região sul do Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil, reivindicam o direito de viver nos territórios dos quais foram expulsos e organizam sua luta por meio das retomadas de suas terras, reconhecidas como de ocupação tradicional, os chamados tekoha. As retomadas se contrapõem ao modelo de reserva criado pelo Serviço de Proteção aos Índios (SPI) entre 1915 e 1928, tendo por finalidade reivindicar a devolução e novas demarcações de terras ao Estado brasileiro. Se, no passado, o processo de reservamento no MS levou em consideração os interesses do agronegócio, "confinando" os indígenas em reservas, na atualidade, os Guarani e Kaiowá também se defrontam com o crescimento das cidades e da especulação imobiliária. Neste contexto, as disputas por lógicas espaciais e por lugares de vida, e, ainda acrescentaria, por recursos e poder, trazem novos elementos para pensar os conflitos territoriais no estado. Esta pesquisa se debruça na análise do avanço da cidade de Dourados, MS em terras hoje retomadas pelas famílias Guarani e Kaiowá. Procura-se pensar o papel que a vizinhança com a cidade tem na vida cotidiana dessas comunidades e na sua articulação política, refletindo como essa proximidade interfere e reconfigura as estratégias de lutas adotadas pelos Guarani e Kaiowá que vivem nesses locais e os efeitos que têm no seu cotidiano. Abstract: Since 1980, families from the Guaraní and Kaiowá ethnic groups in the southern Brazilian region of Mato Grosso do Sul have been claiming the right to live in the territories from which they were expelled, as well as organizing their movement through the retaking of their lands, which are recognized as traditional territories known as tekoha. The land retake disputes with the reserve model established by the Indian Protection Service (IPS), between 1915 and 1928, and seeks to demand the restoration and re-demarcations of aboriginal lands from the Brazilian State. In the past, the reservation process in Mato Grosso do Sul only considered the interests of agribusiness, with indigenous people being "confined" in reserves. However, nowadays, the Guaraní and Kaiowá peoples have also been faced with the rise of cities and real estate speculation. In this setting, disputes over spatial logic, living space, and, I would argue, resources and power, introduce new dimensions to thinking about territorial conflicts in the state. This study examines the increasing advance of Dourados’ city (MS) on traditional lands retaked by the Guaraní and Kaiowá families. Further, this research seeks to understand the city’s role as a neighborhood in the daily lives of these communities and their political articulation. It reflects on how this proximity interferes with and reconfigures the resistance strategies used by the Guaraní and Kaiowá groups living in these areas and impacts on their daily activities.
