Resumo: Investigamos aqui a hipótese de que os substratos existentes nos ambientes cristalinos e sedimentares do Domínio da Caatinga (DC), têm exercido pressões diferentes sobre as espécies arbustivo-arbóreas do banco regional, levando a estruturas taxonômicas diferentes das comunidades. Para isso, analisamos os índices de distinguibilidade taxonômica (AvTD) e variação taxonômica (VarTD) de comunidades nos dois ambientes. Após calcular os índices no R Studio, fizemos análises de correlação, GLMM e GAMM para entender as relações entre os índices, entre eles e os níveis taxonômicos (espécie, gênero, família e ordem). Na Caatinga em geral, as médias de distinguibilidade e variação foram respectivamente 94,61 e 307,07. Os valores de distinguibilidade no cristalino (média de 94,47) foram significativamente maiores que no sedimentar (média de 94,11). Os valores de variação no cristalino (média de 288,45) foram significativamente menores que no sedimentar (média de 332,36). A correlação entre a VarTD e AvTD foi negativa, ou seja, as comunidades com maiores valores apresentam uma maior uniformidade de distribuição dos táxons entre as categorias, estas que influenciam ambos os índices. Nossos resultados corroboram com a hipótese inicial e podem ser entendidos por meio da história evolutiva da Caatinga. A utilização destas métricas permitem uma compreensão robusta da estruturação taxonômica, além de ressaltar um novo aspecto de diversidade vegetal do DC Ver menos

Abstract: We investigated the hypothesis that the substrates present in the crystalline and sedimentary environments of the Caatinga Domain (CD) have exerted different pressures on the shrub-tree species of the regional bank, leading to different taxonomic structures of the communities. To do this, we analyzed the average taxonomic distinctness (AvTD) and variation in taxonomic distinctness (VarTD) of communities in the two environments. After calculating the indices in R Studio, we conducted correlation analyses, GLMM, and GAMM to understand the relationships between the indices, between them, and the taxonomic levels (species, genus, family, and order). In the Caatinga in general, the mean distinctness and variation were 94.61 and 307.07, respectively. The distinctness values in the crystalline environment (mean of 94.47) were significantly higher than in the sedimentary environment (mean of 94.11). The variation values in the crystalline environment (mean of 288.45) were significantly lower than in the sedimentary environment (mean of 332.36). The correlation between VarTD and AvTD was negative, meaning that communities with higher values exhibit greater uniformity in the distribution of taxa among categories, which influence both indices. Our results support the initial hypothesis and can be understood through the evolutionary history of the Caatinga.
