Resumo: O fechamento dos campi em âmbito global devido à pandemia da COVID-19 acelerou movimentos em diferentes dimensões do ensino superior, incluindo a composição dos atores no ecossistema e as atividades de ensino, pesquisa e internacionalização. Este texto propõe, com base na literatura acadêmica e em publicações de agências internacionais, sistematizar algumas mudanças e apontar suas especificidades e alcance, com destaque para o cenário brasileiro. Constata-se que a pandemia trouxe efeitos gerais, mas esses variam conforme os países e instituições; as restrições do convívio social e a adoção do ensino remoto acirraram dificuldades já existentes no ensino superior, exigindo respostas rápidas de governos e/ou instituições; ampliou-se a digitalização do setor o que trouxe janelas de oportunidade, mas que podem ampliar desigualdades. Desta forma, a pandemia de COVID-19 teve um papel catalizador de mudanças que já estavam em curso em algumas dimensões do ensino superior, gerando novas tensões e desafios

Abstract: The global closure of campuses due to the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated higher education movements in different dimensions, together with the structuring of actors within the ecosystem and within teaching, research and internationalization activities. The aim of this text, based on academic literature and publications from international agencies, is to systematize some changes and point out their specificities and scope, with an emphasis on the Brazilian scenario. It appears that the pandemic brought about general effects which varied according to countries and institutions, such as: the restrictions of social interaction and the adoption of remote teaching, which exacerbated existing difficulties in higher education, requiring quick responses from governments and/or institutions; and the digitization of the sector expanded bringing about windows of opportunity, but which can also increase inequalities.
