Abstract: This article discusses the relationship between the question of inferences in the contexts of justification in science, namely what became known as the "induction problem" after Hume, in order to clarify different versions of the problems of underdetermination in the philosophy of science. In the first section, we briefly clarify some notions of "inference" and the issues of amplifying inferences. We show how this problem was inserted in the debate on the justification of scientific theories through alternative solutions and its connections with the problems of underdetermination. In sections 2 and 3, we present concrete cases of underdetermination —in general philosophy of science and in the debate about the metaphysical profile of the individuality of non-relativistic quantum mechanics objects as an example and a case study, respectively. Resumo: Este artigo discute a relação entre a questão das inferências nos contextos de justificação em ciência, nomeadamente o que ficou conhecido por "problema da indução" após Hume, em vista de esclarecer diferentes versões dos problemas de subdeterminação na filosofia da ciência. Na primeira seção, esclarecemos brevemente algumas noções de "inferência" e as questões das inferências ampliativas. Mostramos como esse problema esteve inserido no debate sobre a justificação das teorias científicas através de soluções alternativas e as suas conexões com os problemas de subdeterminação. Nas seções 2 e 3, apresentamos casos concretos de subdeterminação —em filosofia da ciência geral e no debate acerca do perfil metafísico da individualidade dos objetos da mecânica quântica não-relativista como exemplo e caso de estudo, respectivamente.
