Title: | Modelling Of The Catalytic Hydrotreating Of Middle Distillates In Trickle Bed Reactor |
Author: | Vasco De Toledo E.C. Filho R.M. |
Abstract: | The HDS, HDN, hydrodeoxygenation, hydrocracking, and saturative hydrogenation of middle distillates were studied under wide operating conditions of the temperature and pressure. An adiabatic diesel hydrotreating trickle bed reactor packed was simulated numerically by pseudo-homogeneous and heterogeneous models to check up the behavior of this specific reaction system using industrially validated kinetic models. The developed models showed the main characteristics of the reactor behavior, including the effect of the addition of a quench stream to improve the operational flexibility of the reactor. In fact, the alternative design, allowing the addition of a quench stream in some parts of the reactor, is a very efficient procedure to lead the reactor to operate at high operational performance while achieving the environment requirement. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 7th World Congress of Chemical Engineering (Glasgow, Scotland 7/10-14/2005). |
